Our Successes
It is About People
“Development work its not rocket science, it is much harder.”

Donors often rightfully ask: How do we know that our support will actually make a change or have any lasting impact? The best answer is to look at the years of commitment an organization has to its mission and whether it has the patience and perseverance to do what it says it will do; an organization that is not into the flavor of the month but committed to real and lasting change; an organization that does not try to impose solutions but works with local individuals and groups to help them work to solve the problems and needs they have identified. Child Aid is such an organization. We think you will see an example of this in our recent work with CORAL and Clinica del Pueblo.
Background
Both CORAL and Clinica del Pueblo began with a commitment by dedicated individuals in the United States to address the deplorable conditions that they saw their fellow human beings suffering; CORAL by Child Aid and its local partners and Clinica del Pueblo by Father Scott Seethaler of Pittsburgh and his local partners. By working long term with equally dedicated local individuals, two sophisticated health care organization were created that provide otherwise non existent services to thousands of children and families annually.
Recent Developments
Child Aid has recently worked hard and is continuing to work with the Father, the Board of CORAL and the Board of Clinica Del Pueblo to help these two health services organizations partner to bring improved and broader health care services to the poor of Oaxaca. It is a very exciting development to see these two wonderful entities recognize that they can better and more cost effectively serve their client populations by combining their efforts. As anyone who has worked in the non profit sector knows, it is not easy to get individual non profits to be willing to combine their efforts. We are humbled by the ability of the Boards of these two locally run entities to work together to better serve the people of Oaxaca and we are extremely proud to have been the driving force behind making this happen.
By joining forces and centralizing services in one location CORAL’s clients will have general health care available and Clinica Del Pueblo will reach more of the poor as well as have quality audiology service available to its clients, truly a win win situation for both organizations and all those who generously support their work. It is another Example of how we work hard to maximize the impact of our donors and to work to build lasting and successful local organizations.
