Child Aid Boilerplate
Child Aid’s mission is to create opportunity for Latin America’s rural and indigenous poor through childhood literacy programs. Its innovative work in rural villages is creating a new generation of teachers and librarians who are transforming education in their communities. Working in partnership with over 50 towns and villages, Child Aid helps thousands of children learn to read, and provides effective, ongoing literacy training to hundreds of rural teachers and librarians. Child Aid also distributes tens of thousands of Spanish-language children’s books to partner schools and libraries in impoverished communities throughout Guatemala.

Child Aid Literacy Trainer, Rosenda Ajpacajá Ramos (center), works with teachers in the remote village of Xojolá during a training session. Child Aid provides ongoing literacy training to teachers in nearly 40 neglected rural schools in Guatemala. 
Each year, Child Aid delivers tens of thousands of Spanish-language children's books to Guatemala and works with librarians like Antonia Choc (pictured) to distribute them to neglected schools and libraries. 
By training rural teachers like Gersón Barreno (pictured), Child Aid helps children who live in extreme poverty improve their reading and writing skills so they can create better lives when they grow up.
