Privacy Policy
Child Aid respects the privacy of our supporters and all visitors to our website. The following describes the protection we provide regarding collection and use of the data we receive from donors and visitors to our website.
General Policy
Child Aid values our relationship with our donors and understands the importance of protecting their information whether collected through this website or sent to us via email or mail. All donor information we receive is for internal purposes only, and we take the necessary security measures to keep this information private.
Any visitor to Child Aid’s website can view it without revealing any personal information. Should you choose to share information online for the purpose of processing a donation, subscribing to our email newsletter or for any other reason, Child Aid will protect your personal information and tell you how we intend to use it.
Child Aid does not share lists or any other information concerning those who visit our website or otherwise support our work with other parties except through our Annual Report, which thanks donors by name but does not reveal the amount given. All donors can opt out of inclusion in the Annual Report simply by sending an email request to info@child-aid.org. We do not send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. At any time, at your request, Child Aid will remove your name from our mailing list, email list or telephone solicitation list, and we will not sell, rent or trade your information to a third party.
Email Communications
When you provide us with your email address in order for us to send you our free email newsletter, you will have the option of also providing additional information such as your postal address and phone number.
Child Aid uses a third-party email service to deliver emails. This company has the ability to track ‘open rates’ and ‘click-throughs’ and uses your email address to do this. This information is used only to determine the effectiveness of our web communications. Donors are given the option of being removed from our email list at the bottom of each email. Once again, we will not sell, rent or trade your information to a third party.
Donations
When you make a donation through our website, you will be asked to submit personal information, such as your credit card information, in order for us to process your donation. This information is processed by a third-party donation processing service which uses high-grade encryption and the industry-standard https security protocol to ensure secure transactions. However, please note that perfect security does not exist on the Internet. You will know you are in a secure area of our website when a “lock” icon appears next to the URL and the URL address changes to “https.” The s means “secure.”
