Child Aid has earned Charity Navigator’s four-star rating sixteen times since 2003.

Every day we strive to fulfill our mission of bringing literacy and hope to Guatemala’s children while delivering results for our supporters. We consider our supporters to be direct partners who help us build brighter futures for children in Latin America. We undergo independent financial audits every year and we make these reports available online, along with our tax returns. Furthermore, we invite donors to personally visit our program in Guatemala. We want as many supporters as possible to meet our staff and witness the impact of their contributions firsthand. Child Aid is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Guatemalan government and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by the U.S. Treasury.

Child Aid (both US and Guatemala) is committed to 100% financial efficiency, our transparency and our accountability to our supporters and the communities we serve. Child Aid has earned the highest level ratings from Charity Navigator and the platinum level Seal of Transparency from Candid. This puts Child Aid in exclusive company as one of America’s most efficient and effective charities. Candid is a non profit that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector. It was formed in 2019 when GuideStar and Foundation Center merged. They provide information that helps nonprofits find funders to support their work AND they help funders verify and research nonprofits that align with their priorities.
