Help us stock a classroom with new books
How it works
Every year Child Aid purchases and ships tens of thousands of books to Guatemala to be distributed across all Child Aid schools.
When Child Aid began working in Guatemala our staff discovered classrooms with hardly any reading materials. Teachers had old newspaper articles hanging on the way for children to practice their reading. This is no way to help kids fall in love with reading – so we figured out how to get thousands of high-quality, Spanish-language books into Child Aid classrooms.
Now, each year Child Aid distributes roughly 70,000 books to Child Aid classrooms across rural Guatemala. It takes $100 to stock a bookshelf, $500 to fill a classroom, and $5,000 to stock an entire school with colorful, compelling Spanish-language books.

Book fundraisers are fun and easy to hold – either in person or virtually. They bring people together, raise awareness around our work and drive donations to our programs.
