Providing books
Stocking classrooms with a vital resource for learning.
Child Aid delivers tens of thousands of Spanish-language books to primary schools each year.
Child Aid’s book donation program offers students access to a new world of learning, and an opportunity to develop literacy skills that will last a lifetime. Each year we provide a mixture of reading levels, genres and subject matter to meet the needs of teachers and interests of young readers. We review our book offerings annually and solicit feedback from our teachers and staff about which books are the most useful in their classrooms. We offer both fiction and non-fiction titles and help teachers learn to use both in their classrooms.
To deliver books to the many rural classrooms that Child Aid supports is no small task. Over the years we have documented our book delivery process – highlighting the lengths that our team goes to get books – and bookshelves! – to our classrooms across the four regions where Child Aid works.
