For those of you who didn’t see the photos on our Facebook page showing the new library going up in Xojolá, Guatemala, here they are! Alejandro Guarchaj, the former school director and a member of the library committee, recently sent them to us.
Last year, we helped the community convert an old abandoned building into a vibrant library with reading programs and hundreds of children’s books. It wasn’t long before the library became so popular that it couldn’t accommodate all the kids who want to use it. Now, with funding and support from our partner Miracles in Action, we’re helping them build a bigger one! When construction is finished, we’ll provide more books and continued training and support. We’ll also help the librarian improve and expand the reading programs we’ve already set in motion through Reading for Life. Big thanks to Miracles in Action for making this possible. And thanks to you for helping supporting our work!
